Paper Quest is a fun and addictive platform game designed in the graphic style of drawing games. In this clever game, you guide a small stick figure through a course filled with so many dangers it would make the most hardened competitor of Ninja Warrior quiver in fear.
The gameplay is simple enough. You only have left, right and jump controls to worry about, but this does not mean this is just another clone of an old game like so many other platformers out there. This is an ingeniously designed flash game with a steep learning curve.
The first few stages will guide you through the easiest levels, showing you the ropes and the main things to look out for. Much in the way of World of Goo and other similar games, Paper Quest will also provide you instructions and tips embedded into the game background as you move through each stage. After the first three or four missions, the game will get progressively harder, challenging your wits and hand-eye coordination.
Paper quest is a rather short game, with only 13 stages that take a few minutes to beat once you already got the hang of it. However, it makes up for it by offering alternative goals for each scenario, like finding the Secret Places hidden across each stage. On level 5, you will also have the chance to discover the extremely difficult ‘Death Room’, which will test your patience and keyboard skills.
While not long or overly elaborate, Paper Quest is am awesome time killer on those boring evenings or the perfect solution when you are looking for an engaging game to beat in the curse of an evening.
