Don’t let the name fool you; you’re not going to be picking up a gun and shooting other suckers with balls of paint. No, Paintball is so named because you paint your way to victory! Your mission, if you accept it, is to guide a little red bouncing ball to its end goal in every level, a large red square.
Paintball is simple. Just use your mouse to draw lines and shapes on the screen. They’ll act as tangible barriers, floors, and walls that the ball can roll and bounce upon. Use them to direct a path to the red box. When you think you have something workable, press the spacebar or click the “Go” option to get the ball rolling, literally. If it works, congratulations! If not, simply press R or click “Reset,” and the ball will be back to its original position, and you can adjust your drawn paths. If at any time you feel that your paths just are not going to cut it, then press C or the “Clear” option, and everything you drew will be gone in an instant!
Paintball adds a twist to drawing games everywhere by implementing a realistic physics engine. That ball is controlled by nothing but the force of gravity, and it’s just as much your friend as it is your enemy. Draw downward-facing inclines to direct the ball to where you need it to go, and block off dead ends where it could get trapped. And mind those screen edges. You never can tell how that ball will bounce, and should it ever go off-screen, it’s game over!
Paintball includes a level editor for even more fun. Put in your own default walls, write your own code, and put your skills as a designer and gamer to the test!
Paintball Game Controls
- Draw line – left-click, hold and drag to make a line on the game screen.
- Drop ball – space bar.
- Erase line – hold the “C” key and left-click the line.
- Clear screen – hit the “C” key once.
- Reset ball – press the “R” key.
