In aMaze, you will be challenged to take on a series of mazes armed with nothing but your mouse. There’s a few catches, though: you need to draw the shortest line possible, as fast as you can and without touching the walls. When you do touch the walls, you lose a life. This results in a maze game that is actually more exciting than most maze or drawing games that you can play online.
If you’ve recently purchased a drawing tablet, aMaze actually makes for great practice. Going through the mazes teaches you how to make the best possible use of your tablet and pretty soon you may well be using it like you would a pen and paper.
If you’re having trouble, here’s a tip: Always look for straight lines. Some of the levels in aMaze look very complicated until you notice that there’s a shortcut at the top or bottom of the screen.
Another quick tip: Don’t rush. Jerking the mouse or stylus left and right is great when you have a straight line with no obstacles to traverse, but when going through the trickier mazes, taking your time is going to keep you from wasting your lives as you get from start to finish.
Because of the heavy mouse-intensive control scheme of the game, if you don’t have a tablet, you’ll want to take a break every few levels to keep your wrist limber.
The game can also be fun to play with the touchpad on your laptop, though you will find yourself lifting and moving your finger around quite often. The game is really meant to be played with a tablet if at all possible, or on your phone.
